Yes. It’s trending towards crazy. The locals are flipping out.
It’s not just the recent headlines but just overall things going on in the area.
I go there for business on occasion and have noticed a dramatic change since the pandemic.
The real estate agents can stop using “quaint” “quiet” “cute” “charming” etc in their listings.
There's been a lot of crazy going on everywhere since the pandemic.
Saratoga CoWorks to open a third location in Saratoga Springs
From the article: "Daniel Bullis and Dorothy Rogers-Bullis were about to sign a lease for a third coworking space in March 2020 when the pandemic hit. Uneasy about what would happen next, they decided to hold off.
“And thank God, because everything got shut down. It would have been a nightmare,” said Bullis, owner of Saratoga CoWorks.
But now their plans are back on track, and they’re beginning renovations on a third coworking space planned to open in August. The couple purchased the building at 92 Congress St. for $1.4 million this spring. The coworking space is going in a 5,000-square-foot space on the second floor."
Is this in reference to some bar fights that have occurred and getting publicity in the local media recently? Is it really THAT bad?
It's not just the recent bar fights....it's a subtle shift since the pandemic - still a very lovely, desirable town, but with growth and success comes some negative happenings too. Vandelism is up. Homelessness is up. There have been a few protests against alleged police brutality (which I personally do not agree that happened). Take away a few policing practices and crime is gonna rise.
Speaking only anecdotally, I've known many Saratogians, and there is an uppity vibe. I love to visit, but no thanks, I'll pass on living there.
..Have family there..it has changed "somewhat" over the years. Without sounding the "everything's gone to h#ll"...Almost ANY place in this country has had change...often, some of it not good..over the last few years.
What are some nice areas outside of Saratoga which are ideal for retirees? Looking for a decent piece of land near water.
