Default coming out from the west coast.... curious about Stephentown
we are relocating this summer to SOMEWHERE on the east coast. NY state..... PA maybe......
I couldn't find the right place to post........ all the counties mentioned weren't really the area of Stephentown. So I hope its ok to post in the general NY section.
Does anyone know anything about Stephentown? IS it a nice place to live? Safe & friendly? Good schools? No hillbillies as neighbors? lol
We were perfectly set to move to Bucks County PA............. but now that its getting closer... I am getting somewhat anxious & wanting to look around & not miss anything.
Anyones input would be greatly appriciated.

The place is in a very rural area. Its safe. I believe children would go to the schools in the town of New Lebanon, but don't quote me. You may have hillbillies as neighbors but properties are pretty spread out.

Columbia County is beautiful. Some areas/towns are more hillbillyish, some aren't. I think it's more about the individual living in the home than the area. There are large expensive homes in these areas as well as ones that are more simple. There are alot of NYC people who have 2nd homes in Columbia County, too.
You might want to check out Dutchess County, too. Rhinebeck area.

Default stephentown is in rural rennselaer county
some of stephentown is in averill park schools - highly rated - my kids go there and they and i love it
