Hi Again,
Where is the Morris Ave Historical District? Is that part of the plots?

Morris Ave is a small side street that runs N-S between Union St. & Eastern Ave. If you look at a map, Morris is parallel and between major streets, Brandywine & Nott Terrace.
Hopefully this link works for you:
Map of [1-1] Morris Ave Schenectady, NY by MapQuest
PS it's not part of the plots, it does have some beautiful homes, but may be surrounded by other streets that aren't so nice. The small neighborhood to the north is nice, Maryland, Oxford, Brierwood.

moving to schenectady
Hi I'm Merce,
I found all details you are giving to this forum very interesting as my family and I are moving to Schenectady next August.
I have already had some helpful information form you (rosette8 and j12308). At this moment I know the areas to avoid and some of goods areas. But my question is: WHAT ABOUT BELLEVUE? My older will finally attend FULTON EARLYCHILDHOOD and my younger will attend next year, so it will be easier for us to live there. Do you know if it is a good place to live? Also Montpleasant is near, what about this?
Thanks again for your advice.
Merce

Hi Merce,
Glad I've been helpful. Unfortunately, I don't know much about Bellevue or Mt. Pleasant. I'll try to tell you what I do know. If you look at a map of the city those areas are sort of on the other side of town, sort of south west, on the other side of I-890. I don't know why but I just never considered even looking in either of those areas. It's not like I heard they were horrible areas, but just seemed out of where we were concentrating on looking. We didn't consider Rotterdam either really, but did look at a place sort of out of the center of town in Rotterdam Junction. Anyways, again I don't know much about these areas, they for some reason just didn't seem like good areas to us, maybe because I thought of the areas as close to Hamilton Hill, even though they are seperate areas. I do know a nice family from my son's school that lives in Bellevue. And I do know of a 20 something girl that bought a house in Bellevue recently. She really likes it. I assume it can't be a bad area. Her parents would never let her buy in a bad area. I hope someone who knows a bit more can answer this better for you.

Bellevue is a nice middle class area. It is very close to Rotterdam which also is nice. The price differences between the GE Plot to Bellevue are rather large. My daughter has friends in this area and the homes and neighborhood seem nice. I too rarely go to the other side of 890 (I always get lost), but there are some decent neighborhoods over there. You just have to know where you are.
Mt. Pleasant....my from my limited knowledge and view.... is an area I would stay away from. I think it can be hit or miss...not worth the risk.
I don't know where or what Fulton early childhood is so I can't help you with convience there.
Good Luck!
