Question Please recommend areas....

My husband and I are considering relocating to the Albany/Saratoga area in January. We're hoping to buy a piece of land (1/2 acre to 1 acre) and build a modular. We're looking for a nice, safe area with reasonable taxes, good school district and close to everything (10-15 minutes). We live on Long Island and are a bit spoiled by our location with everything nearby. We need to be close to stores, etc. and entertainment (SPAC is a huge draw for us!).

My husband is in IT and I'm a Social Worker so I don't see jobs impacting location too much.

Any input is appreciated. Thank you so much!

Well if you can get 1/2 to 1 acre of land, you probably won't have to worry about safety. That pretty much removes you from the "rough" areas unless you get one of those crazy neighbors that makes beer in his basement and listens to Ted Nugent (oh wait, that's me).

Taxes are cheapest in Saratoga County. Clifton Park and Wilton have the malls and stores. However, a commute to the Albany area can be a pain.
