I live in schenectady, on Chrisler Ave, which is the ghetto.. in my hold time here i haven't heard one gunshot or stabbing.. my car was broken into once, but they didn't take my money, lol ..
I'm actually in the process of moving to Rotterdam (schenectady county!) .. schenectady aint' bad, it's the same as albany or troy, it's a city, all cities have these things..

Only some cities are worse than others. I wouldn't step foot in Troy again unless I was getting payed for it.

Huh?
How can any street (even a street in Schenectady) be "literally" retarded?

See I grew up with the same mentality but there are parts of Troy that are now booming because people my age that go to HVCC and RPI want to live there. It's cheap and close to school.
I don't think it's any accident that Dinosaur BBQ chose Troy as the place to open their next restaurant.

That's awesome! It makes sense because Troy seems to have a more aesthetically pleasing and funkier downtown than Schenectady. Those 3 places on River St in Troy are just as cool as anything Saratoga Springs has to offer.
We'd occassionally drive from Ballston Spa to Troy for entertainment but I can only recall going to Schenectady once for the same reason.
