Default Info on Town of Jefferson

Considering relocating from Long Island. Had enough. Would like some info on Town of Jefferson, NY. For instance nearest hospitals as I am a Registered Nurse. Most importantly---What is the feel of the Town. Is it charming ,are the residents nice and help one another, is there a community feel, what is the most dominant religion, income and poverty levels, is there a town center (main street), are there too many stop signs, any crime, shopping? How close are bigger towns in travel time (Oneonta,Albany, and others). Thanks everyone. Happy Thanksgiving.

Hello. I assume you are talking about the town of Jefferson in Schoharie County? If so, it is a very small place. Not much of anything in the way of town. However, the village (city?) of Schoharie and especially Middleburgh are very cute and have "downtowns" (think small however). Stamford isn't too far from Jefferson and is nice as well. And then there's Cobleskill with a state college of sorts. But really, in Jefferson, not much there.

I've lived here most of my life and you couldn't ask for a better place to enjoy mother nature, raise kids, know your neighbors, get involved in local worthy projects, etc.
Quiet...yes; maybe a little old fashioned; you might have to drive a little for shopping; there are a couple restaurants nearby. All these are "assets" in my estimation!
