Default churches in Albany

I've been living in the area for a few months now. I haven't attended church in over a year but am kind of thinking I'd like to get involved in a church here. The last church I attended was a small, inner-city church that did a lot of outreach and services for people in the area. I really liked that they were so involved in the community. I've been hoping to find someplace like that here. I'm also young and single so it would be nice if the church had a lot of young people in it. I've gone to a couple just randomly and most of the people are older and have families. So, I was just wondering if anyone here had recomendations? I don't care too much about denomination. I prefer smaller churches but would try a bigger one if the people were friendly.

I haven't been to too many churches in Albany proper except for weddings and such, but I will tell you about one I think you might like:
The Cathedral of All Saints on South Swan Street just off Central Ave/State Street. It's right downtown, Episcopalian I believe. The church is absolutely gorgeous.

I worked an event there & met many of the church members who volunteered at the event. They were a very diverse group of ages, races, genders, singles, families, etc. I was talking to a few & mentioned I might want to attend Christmas services there. They said the choir performance is not to be missed. I don't know the date etc., but they do have a website : www.cathedralofallsaints.org

Worth checking out!

I am not sure if you found your church home yet, but I have a couple of suggestions for you.. You can try New Fellowship Beginnings they are a non-denominational and meet at the movie theater on State St. in Albany.. the Pastor is Dan Rushing and he is a young guy.. the church is very young and contemporary.. then there is Grace Church in Clifton Park which is rather large, so they will have a lot for you to do.. and www.lifechurch.tv is another one...
