Default hossick falls questions

Ops I mean HOOSICK FALLS
Can someone please tell me if the property taxes are high in Hoosick Falls. Also, what are the roads like, are they kept cleared? Is it an easy enough commute to the Colonie area?
Thanks in advance!

High taxes depend on your version what high means. This is NY.....nothing's cheap here.

Hoosick Falls is pretty out there. Any commute to Colonie would be long even without weather. There's no direct access.

As for the roads, state roads are usually kept pretty well. It's the back roads that you have to worry about and there's lots of them.

A quick check on Mapquest says it's 45 minutes from Hoosick Falls to Colonie. Of course that doesn't include specific addresses or take into account the horrible Route 7 traffic. On a good day with no traffic, 45 minutes sounds reasonable. But add some traffic and weather and it's waaaay longer than 45 minutes.

Do you currently live in the area? If not, be sure to physically visit any place you are considering moving to. I read on here all the time people who move and are miserable. They just went by info they found online and never visited the place! DUH! Every town paints a rosy picture online. What town is going to put on their website we're the slums of the east coast? Not saying Hoosick Falls are the slums either. Don't want anyone to misconstrue that.

Not much in HF-- old farm country. Small hick town that are all the folks that grew up there. I used to live in Bennington VT- over the border, so I know! You're looking at about a 30-45 min commute- depending on where in Colonie you're talking. Route 7 can be nasty. I used to commute from VT to Latham- and just east of Pittstown can get rough. The back roads are just that. They drive trucks out there for a reason! Can't help on the taxes since I didn't live there.
