Default Good and bad apartment complexes in Glens Falls/ Queensbury area

I'm looking at apartment listings but can't ever find photos or homepages for places as such LA Rose Gardens, Phil Rose Apartments, Heritage Apartments, etc... Has anyone heard of certain places that are alright and others that are just awful??

I live in the area and have never heard of the first two that you mentioned. Heritage is I believe low income housing located across from the hospital. Have you considered Saratoga Springs, just 15 minutes south?

I've looked on PostStar and Craiglists list and see that alot of the listings for apts. are around $700-850 a month plus utilities. I was looking for around $550-650 a month. Do you know of any there that are nice?

Try Schermerhorn Properties, they own a big chunk of the rentals/complexes in the area. I do not suggest Saratoga, as their prices have gone up so much that I think you would be hard pressed to find something nice in your price range.

do you currently live close to the Glens Falls area? it might take a few calls and visits but you'll probably be better off looking at privately managed apartment buildings. there are tons of houses in Glens Falls that have been converted to apartments. likely cheaper than an apartment complex.

as for the Schermerhorn Properties - they are all over Queensbury and Hudson Falls but i think most start in the $700 range. i lived in one of their new buildings (first tenants) and they're nice but the walls are paper thin. i could hear my neighbors on a regular basis - sneezing, coughing, alarm clocks, squeeky beds.

check this website out. you can search by county:
Renters Guide - Albany Apartments in New York and Albany, NY Apartment Complexes
there are a couple of apartment complexes on here with some pictures.

good luck!

I'm not currently close to Glens Falls but I do read the Post Star online and look at Craiglists for apartments. Is there any other source I should be looking at or pick up when I'm there to find privately owned apartment complexes?

i think you're on the right track with Craigslist and the Post Star. i don't think there's really anything else that advertises apartments.

good luck with your search!
