How does one find house for rent near Albany? (Colonie: apartments, rental) - Albany - Schenectady - Troy - Saratoga Springs metro area - City-Data Forum

Hi,

My husband and I are moving to the albany area May 1st. We need a house with a yard that except pets. I can't find any rental website or managment company websites that handles anything other than apartments.... I'm sure people rent houses out there.

What am I missing? I have only found oodle and craigslist - can any one point me in the right direction before i loose my mind.

Teacup and albanycafe both allow you to post "Rental Wanted". You need to join these sites to post, but it's quick.

this is the classified page of the online version of Metroland, a local publication, that has lots of good info.

this is the classified page of the online version of the Times Union, the main newspaper in Albany.

Depending on whether you have a cat or dog (also how large of a dog), you may want to consider renting a house.

I'll keep thinking and post more if I can think of any.

i lived in albany for the last 6 years before i moved back down near the city. i would say to look at www.timesunion.com and www.metroland.net . Times union is albanys big newspaper and the metroland is comparable with the village voice. i checked and both had some decent houses for rent. hope it helps!

actually i lived in albany for the last 6 years and the 2 nicest places i lived i found in the metroland. a whole house, basement, driveway, washer dryer nice neighborhood and a back yard for about a grand a month, 3 bedrooms. i think that is a bit of an extreme conclusion to jump to, you never know what you are going to find until you look.

I have several apartments available for rent. One is available now, the others in a month or so. When are you moving? What are you looking for? What is your budget? I have apartments from $930 -$1200. My nicest is a 3 bed, 2nd floor flat for $1050. Very nice place with updated bath, large, modern EIK, gleaming hardwoods and NON coin-operated laundry for second floor tenants only (in the basement). I have a 4 bed for $1200, but it's not updated and I usually rent it to grad students. I also have a 2nd floor flat 3 doors from my where I live that is currently available for $930. Three beds, nice hardwoods, updated applicances, laundry in the basement. Driveway included, too.

WE HAVE A HOUSE FOR RENT!!!

My husband and I are planning to move to CO. We just purchased our house here in Albany, NY (Latham area) 4 mos ago, and don't want to sell it. We have a 3 bdr, 1 bath brick ranch with walk out basement. We have a dog, so we are pet friendly.
