Florida will be nice for a while but you will miss New York to much. I am trying desperatley to find a way to get back to New York. we want to move to Saratoga Springs or Glens Falls area. The people here in Florida are extremley rude and obnoxious.
Do yourself a favor and stay where your at.
Florida is the one place I would never move to....and I read that alot of older senior citizens are moving back to their hometowns in NY to live out the rest of their lives in an area that is "home" and familiar to them..they just don't want to die in Florida
Don't leave. I know its humid here in Toga- but add the extreme heat and FL is a nightmare. Plus, the biggest mountain is Mt. Everest in Disney. I would go crazy with the flat lands. Plus, where are you going to find a downtown area like Saratoga? Also, Southwest flies there for a pretty inexpensive cost- you will always be able to visit.
I want to visit there for the fall foliage this year...any suggestions on timing. How early/late do the leaves change there? I usually go to NE around Columbus Day (sorry to get off topic). Since everyone here is so familiar with Saratoga, I thought you all would know!

The fall foliage is dependent upon the weather, so it is a little hard to predict at this time. I believe last year it was late October and the year before early October. There are websites that provide when each area is "at peak" but it will depend on summer weather.
OK, thanks...I'll keep checking the foliage reports starting Sept.
