Unfortunately, you probably will, eventually.

We didn't used to have them in Midland, either...my yard would have been covered with mounds if I hadn't treated it 2-3 times a season with broadcast bait.

They sell fireant killer here in Alamogordo, which really surprised me. I thought all of NM was too far north and west for fireants, but apparently not. I haven't seen any here YET, but.....

Vicious little b@*****s.

We recently had a D-Day type invasion of ants and finally had to break down and call
in an exterminator. Like Karma, I was really worried because we have cats, but
so far they haven't turned green. We just had the outside areas resprayed because
some ants had survived. Hopefully that will do it.

Default ANTS - what's the deal?

Anyone else having a big ant problem this summer inside and outside the house? Half our garden has been destroyed and they've been invading the house more this year than they have before. Must be the dry/hot weather or something...

I'm just happy ABQ doesn't have fire ants. These little black ants are a minor annoyance.

I did see on the news that the ants were being driven indoors more by the drought, and I noticed a decrease after the 2 drops of rain. Back up again now, though. . .

It's been awful this year! Last year was bad for us too, but this year is worse. I have to put things like cereal, sugar, an open bag of chips, etc.. in plastic container.s And don't think about leaving anything out like a cake.

Last night the ants invaded our large plastic dog food holder. I should buy stock in Raid. The ant bait is not working this year either. One nest dies and another one takes over.

We had a problem with the flying ants last summer, and a little earlier this summer. We had one of the pest companies come out and spray the inside and outside of the house, now we rarely see a bug inside the house

I do my own spraying inside and outside. I have new ant mounds in the yard which I will probably use some granules...

We aren't having problems indoors but outdoors has been a battle since we moved in in July. We had a massive large big black ant colony in the backyard. With multiple granual & water treatments we got it pretty much out of commission. Some of our neighbors use gasoline & fire. These are some freaking hardy buggers.
