You really should start to see higher end stores entering the market in the next year or two. Not only did we make this top 10 list, but in April Albuquerque was the featured story in Shopping Center Business Magazine. This is the largest retail trade publication which is used by most retailers when looking for new markets. Bebe who opened recently at ABQ Uptown is blowing the Scottsdale Fashion Center away in sales, and they're doing it with 1/3 the square footage. Potterybarn is consistently #1 or 2 in sales for the Southwest Region and one of the top grossing nationwide. Target will be building a new Super Target at the SE corner of I-40 and Unser, along with a Kohl's or JC Penney. The entire city including the SW Mesa, Far NE Heights, Westside, and Rio Rancho are going to see significant retail construction in the years to come, and I would image some high-end retail will be looking at the Paseo corridor as well as ABQ Uptown. It will be great to keep the retail dollars here in our city, rather than Phoenix, Denver, Dallas, or LV!!!

Maybe in 5 to 10 years! It could happen faster but it will depend on our job and economic growth. I would expect it would have to accelerate past today's already strong growth.
