Please no more chain restaurants in Albuquerque. Please! I'm begging. They're just a link up the chain from fast-food places. In that same pleading, how about some more ethnic varieties in individual restaurants ?

It was my understanding from years ago that McDonald's owned a majority of the interest in Chipotle. Not sure about now though.

In the past McDonalds was a major investor, I do not believe that is true any more. Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. trades on the New York Stock Exchange as CMG, and now anybody can be an investor.

Chipotle is awesome. They do well just about everywhere, I don't think ABQ will be any different. I will eat there all the time.

Cathy4017: IHOP is pretty good, especially for breakfast food.

I would kill for a mom-n-pop San Francisco style burrito joint to open up near me. Actually, not too near me, but just far enough that I would have to run or cycle because I would be eating a lot of them ;-)

The intention of this thread is not to extol the virtues or vices of chains, rather it is to inform of thier arrival. If you don't like chains, then avoid them.

Hey Jon, how do you know they are putting Chipotle up by Unser?

As far as ethnic variety goes, I'm all for it. But perhaps that's a topic of a different thread.
