OMG, despite already eating my dinner and sipping away on my wine (even more calories)...as I look over these suggestions and their respected websites...I can easily pick out many things I would want to try right now! We have joked that we should try to push to get here so we can enjoy lunch and dinner in Albuquerque! Yum, yum! Thanks for all these suggestions, especially Poncho!!!!

You can always do lunch and dinner one day, and then grab some extra take-outs on your way out of town!

I know this is a stretch, but since you all gave such wonderful recommendations for Albuquerque...any for Gallup, NM?? That's our over night stop on our way out West.

Gallup's going to be your first shot at a decent Lotaburger, and I wouldn't pass it up, even though I'm not a big advocate of burgers on long trips.
1 Lotaburger with double meat, double cheese, and green chile would be my suggestion for Gallup. (If you're not used to the New Mexico 'pain is a flavor' concept, get your green chile on the side. Lotaburger just recently switched their green chiles over to a new source and... well.. as a native I can BARELY handle them. Flavor's awesome, though.)

Kick butt suggestion!
If you are on the road, gettng the dogs out of the car and under the
sky has got to be good for them.
I would imagine that this would also go for many many other places here
in ABQ - if thy canines are good in crowds. Nob hill has many dog walkers
that must like eating in the outdoor venues. Call ahead and axe about it.
I've seen dogs at Gyros on Cornell and El Patio on Harvard.

There are good places to walk the dogs around there too.
