I lived in Albuquerque a couple of summers ago and it definitely felt like there was too much wind, usually at sundown. Is it seasonal, or even true? Why is it?

It's very windy! Especially in the spring. Out here near the Petroglyphs especially (NW area).

There are usually several weeks in the spring where it will be very windy for maybe 3-4 days a week or for the better part of the days. Mornings might be calm but it gets windy later in the day. The rest of the year there will likely be a windy day or half-day every week but not like in the spring. This year, all bets are off -- weather patterns seem very confused. We seem to have gone from spring straight into monsoon season with frequent rain showers and a few serious storms and even flooding in places around the state.

It is somewhat seasonal. The windiest time of the year is generally during the Spring months of April and May, with March and June often not far behind. But it is not something that repeats itself predictably.. Best bet is to monitor the weather reports...

The National Weather Service has a good article: https://www.weather.gov/abq/features_highwind

They show some good average charts from around New Mexico.

Same Government site, with whole state coverage: https://www.weather.gov/

For local weather I frequently use weather.com. Here is the Albuquerque, NM 5 Day Weather info: https://weather.com/weather/5day/l/USNM0004:1:US

I can remember it being so windy in the spring it blew our patio furniture all over the place, especially our chairs, but I haven't lived very many places where the spring winds don't do something similar.

Winds seem to be dying down this week. Summer's coming.

I've never found Albuquerque "too windy." Compared to where?
