This is the funniest topic yet. Fungus Gnats or fruit flies it's very funny.
They love booze or vinegar. Set lots of plastic "solo" glasses around the house with 1 inch of apple vinegar in it and with saran wrap, rubber banded around the top with little holes in the saran wrap. They want that stuff so bad that they crawl into the hole to get to the drink and then can't get out again. They eventually drown or die. It takes weeks but really does work.
They eventually will all get into the glasses but will have layed eggs which will hatch. That's why it will take 3 or 4 weeks.
The bugs can come from plants or fruit not so much from flying into the house with you when you open the door.
Now the plant that is infested you need to get a flee color. Smallest and cheapest will do. Just get a clear plastic bag big enough to put the plant into it and twistie it closed. Lay the flee collar in the bag and the plant also and close it with the twistie. The bugs will die and others will hatch out and die without laying anymore eggs. Probably you should let the plant dry out a little before you put the plant in the bag.

Hi there,
Recently, I have a problem with a kind of tiny fly insect which at night bite me. The trace of its biting is like mosquito biting with itching and somehow reddish bump. They can fly, jump and creep into the trousers, they hide themselves into the hair of head and some part of body which are moisture and warm such as groin and even anus. Actually, they are very small and very agile and I realize that they are white. Meanwhile, I am in Malaysia (tropical area) and it is only two months that I have experience living in this country, may be this is normal issue here because the local people do not express displeasure of the situation, but for me is very difficult to tolerate. I was wondering if anybody tells me how I get rid of these insects.

Okay, ewww, we have them too this year but they are NOT sewer flies or fruit flies, they do look like gnats, but ours are definitely coming in from outside whenever we open the doors. I've never seen them before out here in the East Mtns, assumed it had something to do with July's rain. (Speaking of which, aren't we going to get any more rain? Just one week and done??)
