It looks like that all snack machines on UNM main campus have been taken out of service due to break-ins. I wonder if they will ever go back into service.

Interestingly, UNM's contract with Canteen of Central New Mexico expired last summer, and the new contract was awarded to Sandia Vending. Sandia Vending introduced some nice brand new machines with LED interior lighting as well as credit card readers. I wonder why break-ins weren't an issue when Canteen of Central New Mexico had UNM's contract.

Also note that this only affects the snack machines; the Pepsi machines still remain in service, as UNM's beverage contract with Pepsi is separate from the snack machine contract.

Bradly,

"Huh?" was my reaction at first as well, but upon re-reading the OP's post I am positively convinced that there is some sort of vending machine conspiracy afoot. Thank you, Andros 1337, for bringing this dark and terrible secret to public attention.
