I'll be moving to ABQ in two weeks, and work at San Mateo BLVD and Eagle Rock Ave NE. Could anyone recommend a safe place to live? I'm single so I just need a one bedroom apartment or one room in an apartment/house. I'll buy a car probably within 1 month or 2 weeks after arriving, but before that I'll need rely on public transportation.

Thanks!

Route 140 will go right next to your work.

Without doing transfers that means you could choose any place along San Mateo or Jefferson between Osuna and Alameda. Depending on what you consider a reasonable commute there is quite a selection there.

Here is the route information: http://www.cabq.gov/transit/document...141wkd_rev.pdf

I don't really have an recommendations as it has been awhile since I rented an apartment, but I lived on San Mateo at different places between Montgomery and Jefferson for many years and never had a problem. I wouldn't call it safe, but I wouldn't call it unsafe either. I walked to and from the bars at night many times without any worries.

Will you be working normal 8-5 shifts? Because bus service to that area stops around 6:00 p.m.
