Given the early nature of the events proximity is not an issue:
Driving from 90% of the town to the Fiesta site will take about 15 minutes at that time of day.
Without delving into the details of my girlfriend getting ready on time...trust me it will be an issue
Daveyjoe, if you haven't booked yet, I would recommend the Sandia Hotel & Casino. I stayed there four years ago during the fiesta and the hotel, at the time at least, was new and beautiful. Plus the views of the balloon fiesta were astounding! I didn't win much in the casino, but didn't lose much either. The restaurants there were very good as well.
Figured that I could put this in this thread since I didn't see it mentioned anywhere.
I have a friend coming to Albuquerque from Denmark, and she will be here during the balloon fiesta. She really wants to take a balloon ride, but it's way more expensive than I anticipated, $400
If anyone knows any other services that provide rides or has any other information, I'd greatly appreciate it.
