Albuquerque is getting a Sheplers Western Wear North of Paseo near Five Guys. Has anyone heard when its opening up?

I saw it the other day when I went to get some 5 Guys to go and my car smelled like 5 Guys the next day so I don't think I'm going to go to there any more.

Supposed to open shortly. Friend of ours is going to be working there.

My only complaint is the location....out of the way, but it won't stop me from going. Used to mail order from them a lot.

Is Western wear really that popular in the ABQ area? I understand horsey people needing the odd pair of jeans and boots, but seems Boot Barn, Dan's and other places would suffice for the population that wears this stuff?

Shepler's has much better prices than Dan's and the Boot Barn.

I think its a great move, competition for the existing stores and another option for those of us who like western wear.

Check it out, you might be surprised.

*sigh*
I miss Boot Barn. I also miss Sheplers, although my only in-person shop there was on the way to NM via Oklahoma City.
Here in TN, other than a few touristy overpriced places, it's the Co-op or TSC unless you mail order.

The ABQ Sheplers is not a 45,000 square foot Super Store, it's a 5000 square foot specialized concept retail store. The ABQ location is a partnership with Justin Brands and Wrangler that mainly sells Justin, Nocona, and Wrangler products - you can order from the catalog instore though.
