I couldn't respectfully disagree more, and those "news" - - sources aren't local to ABQ anyway.

Filter out the "if it bleeds it leads" sensationalism of the local news and you'll find they actually do report on a lot of importaint local issues (the good and the bad). Plus I personally like how they spend more time reporting weather than the sports. The last area I lived in had a full 15 min of sports reporting on the local news out of 30.

How ironic, I guess you have not been watching the news...

Headlines like NPR and PBS fear controversy may jeopardize funds

Besides, as already mentioned, that is not local and the title of this thread is "So I thought Albuquerque was a nice place"

I also wanted to add, if it bleeds it leads. Because that hasn't been said enough.

I recently moved to ABQ from Baltimore. I actually find it rather quaint to see how panicked Albuquerqueans are about crime.

Default That's funny

Is this your very first TV? You can go to any TV website in the country and see the exact same thing. It is what makes the news. Every large and small city and town has crime. That is the way it is. Don't watch TV news and you will be just fine.

I totally agree with Arcos. NPR is the best, and Jon Stewart may be a comedian, but his satire gives a very cogent analysis of the days' news and news coverage. By the way, I'll be moving up to ABQ in a few days. What is the radio station # for NPR and the TV station for PBS?

The NPR news stations where I have lived also do local news and interviews with local leaders. Does NPR do that in ABQ?

Public Radio station KUNM 89.9 in Albuquerque has local reporting also, of course, in addition to NPR-syndicated programs.

Public Television broadcasts on KNME, channel 5. They also have some excellent local programming.

Good luck!

Maybe, I don't know. I don't listen to NPR nor Fox News, so I wouldn't know what their format is.
