The old AmerAsia space is now a very tasty Persian/Kurdish restaurant called the Kebab House.

Been a huge fan since they started out in Taos. Best burgers I've ever had, probably. Green chile mayo is killer.
YES! I must have eaten there about 10 times in the 2 months before I moved. Love the indoor/outdoor bar at the Downtown abq location. Always great service too!

I tried Kasbah (on Central, a little west of San Mateo) for the first time. Moroccan food is its specialty, but it has a lot of typical Mediterranean/middle eastern dishes, like hummus and gyros (I think). It was good. Not amazing, but good. I want to go back and try more from the menu. It's very easy to miss. I've driven past it, been curious about it, and then lost track of where it was.

An instrumental version of an Oum Kalthoum song was playing while I was waiting for my takeout.

On second take, the food is really weirdly under-seasoned. This is supposed to be Moroccan? I have my doubts. The chicken is really tender, but I'm not sure I can say much else about any of it. Where is the flavor? I used to cook "Moroccan" recipes that had a lot more flavor than anything I had here.

Also, they play the same song over and over again. They only have one CD? Really? I could burn them a few hours of instrumental Oum Klathoum covers.

This East African place just opened up a few weeks ago in the Scottsdale Village center at Eubank and Candelaria. Good, interesting food and very nice people.

I've passed Kim Long on San Pedro, many times, for years now. Last week I decided I was in the mood for Vietnamese food and I was going to finally try it, on the way back from a doctor's appointment. Naturally it had closed.

I've tried Pad Thai Cafe (at Central & Louisiana) once now. The pad thai was pretty good, still sweeter than I prefer (like all the pad thai I've had here). Service was good. I was only getting take out, but the waitress gave me a complimentary tom yum soup, which was extremely well seasoned. I need to try this place more before recommending it, but it seems pretty promising and has some menu items I haven't noticed at other Thai places here.
