Olympia Cafe is the place near UNM. It's delicious, and very crowded during lunch.

Pita Pit is across from UNM on Central as well - I think directly across the street from that little pump station on campus. It's a standard in a lot of college towns. Their gyro's are actually pretty good and relatively cheap. Plus it's quick and easy.

Spice isn't the same as flavor, so a lack of spice doesn't equate to bland.

I found the two concepts confused when I moved to New Mexico. I don't like my food overly spicy so, for example, I asked some places to hold the chile on their burritos and the result was awfully bland. However, chile didn't exist in California, and rare was I adding and mild or medium sauce to anything, yet I found the local burritos in CA much more flavorful. I've made mention of this to co-workers and other locals and their response is usually "well, you got rid of all the green chile, what did you expect?" Flavor is what I expected.

Tangential example: Indian food in India is very hot for western standards. They tone down the heat when they brought it over for us. However, their food isn't bland. It has complex and unique flavors that come together as you eat it. The flavor to their food is multifaceted. Substitute Vietnamese food in place of Indian and it's the same thing.

i live right next to that shopping complex and have never heard or seen chez bob, but the menu looks interesting and will plan to try it soon. it's funny that on the photo album on the website, all the pictures of the entrees have 3 stalks of asparagus on them. how about trying a different vegetable or another garnish.

Off the most recent subject, but apparently Los Cuates is going after a new Sunport location? I think they should invest in correcting their terrible food before investing in a new location.
