I LOVE the strips of roasted green chiles Golden Pride puts in their breakfast burritos. Yum!

Which Garcia's did you go to penelope? I am just curious because while I have always had some polarizing responses from folks on Garcia's, overall my wife and I always really liked them. Probably far more than Sadie's even as a general rule. However, sometimes we found the best ones were the older ones near Downtown, etc.

We had Garcia's at the Pow Wow. The chicken was very poor quality, even though it was $$. Taco Bell would have been better. I realize that this is "fair food," but I still wouldn't go to any of their restaurants.

Agree with Antiquities. Still think the best New Mexican food in town is Richards on Menual west of Carlisle.

Anybody mention El Patio? Of course I haven't been there since 1965, but I remember going to it a lot. Being that I would not be old enough to drive in another 12 years, I don't remember where it was, I could barely see out of the windshield.

Yes, several people mentioned El Patio. It is on Harvard just south of Central. It is just across from the University

El Patio is on the 100 block of Harvard Dr. SE

So-so at best in my opinion. Pretty popular, though. Make sure you can sit outside on the very nice homey little patio with twinkling lights in the branches and cool misters in summertime.

Do you know how long it has been at that location? I am just wondering if it is the same one. I was born in Albuquerque, 1959, and we lived there until 1965, one street south of Comanche and a little west of Eubank. This was when there was only the desert between us and the mountains, that was it. New Mexican food is rarely found here in Dallas, really only have one restaurant that tries to mimmic it - Blue Mesa.
