True enough. Having grown up in Las Cruces and living in New Mexico most of my life. Going out for "Mexican" food had always been New Mexican food for me. Visiting, and living in, different parts of the United States, taught me the difference between Mexican and New Mexican.

You want green or red sauce with those worms? We had a great little NM restaurant in Dallas, well actually Plano (suburb). It was owned by a famiy from ALB. I went to it a couple of times, it was so good. Then we I actually moved closer to it, it was gone, replace by a typical Tex mex restaurant. I need to order a case of the red sauce from the Shed in Sante Fe. The "Old El Paso" stuff is about it.

Was it the Lincoln County Grill in Plano? We went there a few times and it was very authentic New Mexican. Then one time when we went to Plano to visit my daughter ... Lincoln County Grill was gone.

That's the one - on Coit. When I moved to Coit and Campbell area, I drove up a few lights and it was some Tex-mex place. I went in to check and turned right around. We have Blue Mesa, it's good but it is kind of a fusion New Mexican but they don't have the red sauce. The closet to it is the red sauce at "Uncle Julio's" a Tex- mex place.

I just called the location in Ruidoso, they said there is no longer one in Texas.

Havent read thru all of these yet, But I havent seen Dickies on here yet, been there twice and loved it. Also in Belen there is an old movie theatre that was converted to a resturant that had wonderful food also.. If only I could remember the name.

I think so. I have family in and around the area and was out there a couple of weeks ago., Im in SoCal. L.A. area and we dont have any Dickies out here that I know of.
