Awwww, comeon Towanda...the building is part of what makes the Frontier the Frontier!! The big, sort of cheesy barn looking thing going on...the Frontier wouldn't be itself if it was in a smaller, more hip / styled looking building!!

And that interior just fits the experience so well!! All of the big cheesy John Wayne artwork, the potted plants, etc. - again, if it was devoid of the tackiness, it wouldn't be the Frontier!!

I do know what you are talking about though of course...I am sure many first timers probably see the place and think, "wow, so this is what all of the buzz is about??? Yeesh!"...

I can see that we are going to have to eat there again when we are in ABQ - there are many more things on the menu I want to order.[/quote]

I don't think I have ever eaten poorly there.

Did you have a cin. roll at all for dessert? IF not, you have to try one once! Better than Cinnabons (and believe me, I like a good Cinnabon every now and then!).

Besides the rolls, their standard fare greasy American breakfast favorites I have always loved: eggs, pancakes...oh, the hashbrowns really good.

The breakfast burritos are fairly legendary and darn good. They have REALLY GOOD chicken that they utilize - very moist and tender and flavorful - thus the chicken tacos (in a tortilla not a shell!) are tremendous. The guacamole is really good at the Frontier too...chips and guac are a big treat to eat.

Oh, those tortillas. The Frontier does them SO GOOD. Warm, extremely soft. You can't do worse than buying a to-go bag of Frontier tortillas and having them at home for a few days to eat with honey as a treat.

Darnit all Towanda, now you have me all riled up missing ABQ and eating at the Frontier!!!!

Yeah, I could tell you stories. I am sure most ABQeans could that patronize the Frontier. The people watching I think is half the fun. Not really, most of the fun is eating. But it is fun to watch the eclectic mix of folks. I used to see Dick Kniffing (local news guy) all the time there, and you'd see regularly city council folks and the mayor, but then also the fairly loony folks too. Really a great mix.

I found myself wondering if any of the people I was seeing in there were people I might know from City Data.

Maybe. Due to my busy schedule, I'm in there more often than I'd care to admit.

Does anyone know if the Range Cafe on Wyoming has reopened? I know it moved to the old Carrows location, but I haven't been able to see if it is open yet.

I'm sorry to say, but I lived across the street from Yeller Sub and went in to eat about 5 times and was ALWAYS disappointed. I couldn't believe how much they were charging for a sandwich with so little filling to it. If I wanted to pay $8 for a loaf a bread with 2 ounces of meat in it, I would... well, I guess I wouldn't want to do that! I'm exaggerating, obviously, but I much prefer other places. Relish, for instance.

Relish is the best sandwich shop in the city. I say this without humility and with great opinionation.

Wow! coming from you ABQConvict, I give that some serious weight. I'm going to check out what I've been missing. Have you ever tried Baggin's, and if so, how would you compare it?
