Try the blue corn enchiladas with roast beef ,topped with red chile at Seferino's on Central. It just opened up. I used to eat at the Seferino's on Juan Tabo, but the one on Central is closer to my house. It's just east of San Mateo on Central across from Checker Auto. I have been to all the other popular New Mexican places in town and will now only eat at Seferino's. I get tired of spending money on food that doesn't have any taste and are too expensive.

Default best places to eat.

I wouldn't consider Frontier anything else but to fill an empty stomach. No taste. Kelly's is a Unm/yuppie hangout with decent beer. I can't understand how people could eat at Frontier. Yeech! Rob's Ribbs on Canelaria/San Pedro is great. Jr's on Gibson is decent. But ,please no Frontier.

Judging by the perpetual crowds at the Frontier (as well as its long history), it would seem your opinion would be in the vast minority. But to each his own...

Chap

Wow, I love the Frontier, I can't believe you don't think it has flavor. Hmm, I guess we all have different opinions.

Default Going to seferinos at 10:30 am on 11/16/07

Go there and have the #5 blue corn enchilada with roast beef. To die for like the kids say! You won't eat anywhere else after that Chap. I have a mother-in-law and wife that can cook great mexican food. I guess i am spoiled . If I go out to eat mexican food I only go to Seferino's anymore .The other places are not any good. Why bother! I'm particular. Why drive a vw when you can drive a lexus??? You are right people have different tastes.

I agree with the majority here about the Frontier. It is what it is though...tasty cheap food. When in Alb I always try to make it a point to go to Trattoria Trombino on Osuna I think just east of San Mateo. That place is wonderful, especially for a Italian starved Las Crucen. The grouper is fantastic!

Trombino's is quite good, and I thought I heard they opened another one on the West Side (can anyone confirm this)? I am always becoming more impressed with the variety of food one can find in Albuquerque. I tend to shy away from seafood here (just cannot eat it here after having visited places like the PNW, Maui, and Costa Rica, where it's just always so fresh and tasty). However, I do believe some higher end restaurants get fish flown in fresh daily. Whatever the case, I feel ABQ has really come a long ways down the culinary highway.

I love the Frontier too. I would go there on purpose more if it wasn't such
a logistical hassle. When I lived within one block of there whilst attending
UNM, I considered the easy access to the food to be a great benefit.

Yeah, *wrong* ones. What's not to like about that vat of hot chile salsa?
They used to roast all 40,000 pounds or so right next door for about a
month. I loved the smell and sound of the roasting drifting into my apartment.

Default Best kept secret in town.

Mortimor, try Seferino's(the best kept secret in ABQ) you will never go to another Mexican food place. I took a amigo of mine last Friday and he said it was the best Mexican food he had ever eaten. He said it puts all the others to shame. He was surprised at the great taste and reasonable price. Try it you will be surprised. The #5 blue corn enchiladas with roast beef and red chile. Going again tomorrow for lunch. I don't run with the "herd" ,I go for the good stuff.
