Two Fools does have some great food. Other places I enjoy:

Que Huong
Korean BBQ
The Burrito Lady
Savoy

This weekend, I went to Cosmo Tapas and both the service and food were outstanding. It also seems that they are trying out several different live entertainments during the evenings.

Default Casa De Benevides

So many undiscovered places around town, one more reason to love abq!
I went there for the first time a few weeks ago... I'm hurting with Rancho De Chimayo STILL not being open... and I was quite impressed.

Ambience was great, food was exceptional (though on the edge of what I can eat, for spicy... I don't think I'd take out-of-town visitors who aren't used to New Mexico spice). The service was average, but overall, I'll be back. It's worth mentioning, though, that this is the most $$$ I've spent for traditional New Mexican food.

There's a "try a little bit of everything" combo for 2 that was perfect, 2 enchaladas, adovada, 2 tacos, 2 tamales, 2 rellenos...

Default Donuts in Rio Rancho

There's an AMAZING bakery in Rio Rancho, on 528 right about Northern called "Enchanted Cookies and Cakes." Breakfast pastries are amazing and if you get there early include cake and whatever-non-cake-donuts-are-called donuts. Chocolate and raspberry croissants, and decent coffee. Deserts are amazing too, and I'm staggered every time that i come home with a HUGE box of pastries for ~$25.00 (two or three days of indulgence for a 5+ person household)

Just inside the door is bags of yesterday's pastries at half-price. The kids don't know any better, right?

Default Vernon's Steakhouse

Been to Vernon's a couple of times now, both times I've been impressed with the theme (I like the speakeasy thing, it's silly, but it's fun), the food, and the bartender. (I tried a basilito.. a mojito with basil... at his recommendation. It was way better than it sounded.) Not impressed with the service (they act like this is my first time at a nice restaurant and need some coaching) and the wine list isn't wonderful, but it's good for ABQ.

Steaks both time I've been there. Very well cooked. I'm one of those aberrant people who actually wants my steak medium-WELL and finding a chef who can do that well is a treasure.

Cute place for a date, especially if you haven't told the person where you're going. Going into the divey little liquor store and knocking on the door at the back is just... fun.

I'll be driving instead of flying through ALB next month, so I can spend an evening and the following morning, driving around, visit my old house (it used to be in a good neighborhood) and getting some real New Mexican food that is severely lacking in Dallas. oh the decision I have to make, where to eat. Want dinner when I get into town in Old Town. The only place I remember eating there was La Hacienta, which I have heard on this thread is lacking now a days. The last time I was there it was 1980. Before that it was in 1965. in 1960's we would frequent El Patio, which I understand is no longer but there is another El Patio, but I don't think it is the same. On the way back I want to go through Sante Fe and go to the Shed, and bring back a case of their red sause.

La Hacienda in Old Town is as good as it was 25 years ago, can't go any further back than that for you.

Wasn't ever really my favorite.

One of my favorite dishes in all of New Mexico. I haven't been to CDB in a while, but I may head over there sometime in the near future since you brought this up.

Their margaritas are good too.

When it comes to margaritas, I like those that are served at Charlie's Front (and Back) Door.
