If you have noticed, many of the state highways in the Albuquerque area recently got new signs displaying state highway shields.
However, the only exception is Coors Blvd between St. Josephs and Alameda. This portion of Coors is State Highway 448. If anyone remembers the blue lighted signs on Coors, their faceplates had to be swapped out for green ones due to state highway laws. However, they could have easily included a small NM 448 shield on them, using a narrower font for the name.
In the South Valley (where Coors is NM 45), the lighted signs installed there have the NM 45 shield on them. Why can't the same be done on the NM 448 part of Coors?
