Here is the last of my four ABQ RIDE polls: What should be the number designation of the next ABQ RIDE bus order?

I personally think they should be known as the 1200s, as it seems to represent a new era more than recycling the 200-series designation, which was previously used for 35-foot 1989 TMC RTS buses, which were retired in 2008.

I would like them to be designated the Andros 1337 - series.

Maybe.. Mayorbarr-E series, like Wall-E? This combines the tendency for politicians to name things after themselves long before they earn it, something lovable, high-technology, and rolling, and irritatingly impractical.

Well, if you think about it, ever since the Rapid Ride service started in 2004, the numbering of the vehicles has represented the year the bus went into service. For example with the Rapid Ride buses, the numbering has been 6400 series, 6600 series, and 6900 series, with which the vehicles went into service in 2004, 2006, and 2009, respectively. Also, for the 40-foot buses purchased in the last few years, the 700 series vehicles went into service in 2007, and the 900s in 2009, so if new buses are purchased next year (for non Rapid-Ride routes), it would make sense for them to be numbered as the 1200 series for 2012.
