Qwest is a nightmare!!!!
I have been lied to and wasted over 3 hours on the damn phone today and will have to call back tomorrow! They have mixed our bills up and are happy to transfer a charge to another line, yet not be able to credit another line for another day or two! BS!!!! And, that's just my landline! Now, my wireless...well we were told this charge and that were included in the monthly fee, now they want to charge us nearly DOUBLE!!! What a crock of crap! Sorry, guys (and girls), but this definitely ranks up there for the worst customer service ever! I'm totally disgusted at their lack of care and their generic BS! $75 for my "inconvenience"...I don't think so. Has anyone else had such problems?

I am not too carried away with them myself in the short time I've had to deal with them. I have their phone service (no other choice for landline, so....)...and I'm not impressed with the quality.
I had originally signed up for their DSL (Alamogordo) service...and they never did deliver a modem or an install kit as promised, so I called and cancelled the service, and got Baja Broadband instead. I don't think they know what customer service is, but to be fair, neither do many other companies nowadays.
Sure ain't what it used to be.

I canceled my Qwest service just the other day. If you get good reception on your cell I'd stick with that. Do they have Comcast in Alamo? It is more expensive but I haven't ever had a problem with their cable or internet so on the whole I'd say it's worth the extra bucks.

As far as I can tell, they do not have Comcast service in Alamo; I put my zip in and they returned nothing on that.

Well I agree Qwest is a pain in the ***** but atleast you get to deal with an American. I started with Qwest DSL and cancelled and switched to ATT DSL. AT&T is even worse about customer service than Qwest. For my mobile, I use verizon and love it. I always go to the verizon store in Albuquerque (privately owned) and they have great service. I also love Verizon, because compared to my old T Mobile and AT$T, it has much better reception. Best of luck on your problems.

Deal with an American? Are you kidding? I swore off using Qwest for life after two particularly nasty billing blunders back in 2002/3. Hours and hours spent waiting on hold, incompetent tech support speaking in thick Indian accents telling me to try the same things over and over as I'm transferred to eight different people.
Just recently a friend called Qwest to cancel his account, which for the past 18 months has had a mystery balance of $19.99 that he just never paid. Qwest informed him they would credit the $19.99, but only if it was first paid - then they would issue a refund check. Right. Qwest won't be receiving payment for their final bill or the mystery $19.99 - who has time to sit around for hours arguing with them?
I have cable Internet now with Comcast - it's more expensive, but there was no BS and it works. As far as telephone goes, I use Skype - I have unlimited national calls, voicemail, and a local number for a whopping 7.50 per month.
Goodbye Qwest.

I have to agree! Good customer service is lacking as a whole. It's still out there and I'm sure to let people know when that's what I'm given. Sadly, many of the times you get this "good customer service", nothing was really done to accomplish your request and you don't realize it until a bill comes in or something else doesn't work. It's just annoying that I have to take so many hours our of my day and away from my family only to have to do it all over the next day!
Anyway, here's hoping today goes more smoothly...
Have a great day everyone!

I can't say that I've experienced the difficulties you have so far with Qwest. Most of my interactions with them have been pretty run-of-the-mill, and mostly with my land lines. I also had Qwest Wireless many years ago, and I will recommend that you cut them loose if you can. They're basically Sprint Wireless with the Qwest re-brand, and their coverage bites (to put it mildly). I'd strongly recommend Alltel or Verizon for cell service in ABQ/RR.
But hang in there! I've been through a few cross-country moves, and rarely does everything go perfectly. Just chalk your Qwest experience up to the Moving Gods exacting their toll. Hope your day today goes better!

Agree with you about Qwest. We moved here last year and had nothing but aggravation with Qwest. They fouled up our new service (bundled phone, Internet, tv), got all the details wrong. Billed inaccurately. Their customer service was unfailingly polite, but incompetent. Including the supervisors. Everyone would tell us every month that our problems were resolved, but it took 6 months and endless calling to set it all straight.
Had Verizon back in NY, and never experienced this frustration.

It's nearly a year later and I still hate Qwest and they owe me over $300 that I'm sure I'll never see. They refund it only to turn around and charge it back to my bill.
I still love living in NM, though!
