Default Getting to the Balloon Fiesta from Downtown ABQ

My partner and I will be visiting ABQ/Santa Fe from Chicago for the Balloon Fiesta and are staying in a hotel downtown. We don't want to deal with the traffic when we go to the Fiesta for the weekend Mass Assencions, so we we're wondering if the Rail Runner was running on the weekends during this time (Oct. 6 - 14). Also is there a connection on the city bus system to take us from the Rail Runner Station to the Balloon Fiesta?

If not I guess well have to drive the rental car there.

Thanks for any info that you can offer.

Use our new commuter train, the Rail Runner. As we get closer to the event they'll post their balloon fiesta schedule. There is a stop in Downtown and one close to the event. They take you by bus to the actual event with dedicated lanes for the buses. By far and away the best way to go especially staying downtown.

The RR has been running a weekend schedule for most weekend events. I am sure that will continue for New Mexicos biggest event. I'm sure you will be able to find a shuttle from the train depot on El Pueblo.

Have fun.
