Default Furniture stores

I'm looking for a furniture store that sells good quality furniture for a reasonable price. I used some past searches that suggests the Menaul strip but I am not sure where to start. What exact stores on menaul?
Basically looking for a nice quality couch with coffee table and end tables and a pub style dining set.
I don't mind paying for quality construction but would like too save any money I can.
Any suggestions?

Most popular is American Furniture; they have a few locations throughout town.
Menaul does have a few choices, big and small. Furniture Row, etc. Stool & Dinette..
Ashley off Paseo & I-25 is also big.

Wal-mart, K-mart & Target tend to undercut most of the other stuff, but on quality as well as price sometimes.

Hey RobR73 - I was just going to post about furniture too! I was wondering if there are many second hand stores that have quality furniture. I'll be furnishing an apartment on a tight budget and would rather buy solid used furniture than uncomfortable, run of the mill, particle board new junk! Has the mid century modern thing hit ABQ? The style doesn't seem to match the area but I love the look - clean lines, minimal etc ..

Rob - I'll pm you later!

Furniture on Consignment is on Candelaria, near Princeton for used furniture, there is also the local auctions, about 3 a week and then there is also craigslist and yard sales.

I think FoC closed, or maybe they just moved.

Craigslist tends to work well if you're super-cheap, but yard/garage sales are where it's at, particularly this time of year. Make sure you plan ahead and have the wherewithal to get that dinette or futon or king-size to your new digs. Home depot rents trucks by the hour, or you can bribe a buddy into helping you out. Garage sales tend to lose their furniture by about 10AM unless they're way overpriced. Estate sales can sometimes work but most of them want way too much.

I found three amazing pieces of furniture on Craigslist. I'm a believer now. I got a beautiful china cabinet for 200, a solid cedar chest for 40 and a gorgeous, solid wood armoir for 250. That being said, I wouldn't by upholstered furniture second-hand. Can you say,"bedbugs"?

Nearly almost all my furniture is from Tema. Yes, they have some very expensive stuff but do have some more moderately price furniture also.

Love Tema. I found some great armchairs on sale at Ralph Lauren Home on the corner of Montgomery and Wyoming: Lauren Home Fine Furnishings Albuquerque, NM, 87111 - YP.com

We had a beautiful entertainment center built for us at Mariah Creations on Menaul. The owner, Pete, is so talented and helpful. They do beautiful woodwork, and it can be less expensive than ready made furniture. Mariah Creations, 4408-A Menaul NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110, 505-888-3839, 1-877-888-3839, Fax 505-888-7666
