Well, I'm moving to ABQ in one week .. woohoooo! Very, very happy camper! I currently have AT&T as my cell phone carrier and would prefer to upgrade my phone to a smart phone before I leave. (I'm on a business account here in Florida.)
However, I don't want to get locked into a new 2 year contract if AT&T doesn't get a good signal or if many people don't use them there. Info appreciated!
Alternatively, if you know of a good carrier that has a well-priced plan for smart phones with unlimited texting. (Trying to get under $50 monthly if that's possible?
Thanks and see you all soon on the roads! (I'm a good driver, promise!)
I travel through new Mexico two to three times a year. I've had Verizon since 2000. I've never had any problems with service while traveling through the Land of Enchantment.
I know a couple of engineers that work on the area cell coverage. The following is what they say.
Verizon is the largest but the least reliable for data. Mostly because they have the most users.
AT& T and TMobile are next in size but have more reliable data services. These two companies share alot of the same towers. Sprint shares with Verizon.
The least expensive of the 3 is TMobile right now which I have and am pleased with. Fwiw, TM HSPA technology is generally regarded as the best equipment for smart phones.
Thanks .. grateful for opinions. Can anyone tell me what they currently pay monthly for iphone service with data plan and unlim. texting if you don't mind?
