My two children ( 9 and 7 ) and their father and I, as well as son's BFF ( also 7 ) and his mom and dad are planning to get together Xmas afternoon, post present opening.

We can certainly just hang out at one of our houses, but wondering what might be open, other than movie theatres ( are they open on Xmas )?

Anyone done any research, or are most planning on staying home?

I see Obama declared 24 Dec a Federal holiday as well, I wonder how this will effect banks and mail service?

On real nice (Sunny, Warm and Calm) we have taken some snacks to the local Bosque and just walk around... If you are lucky, there are some picnic tables...

Since banks aren't required to close by the federal government for federal holidays, I doubt this will have any effect on them.

According to USPS.COM, most retail post offices will close at noon xmas eve. Mail delivery will take place on schedule.

Yea they never close, holidays are their best days. Some of the smaller one might, but the big ones will be open.

Thankfully I have a mind and family that doesn't allow me to be pigeon holed into being bored. I've had the last 12 days off from work and have managed to find something to do everyday. Which included keeping a three year old entertained.
