Can I suggest a Supper Club? We started with just three people, and by the time it got rolling we had a group message thing set up on Yahoo and about 15 people regularly involved. Idea is that every week (or couple weeks) someone else hosts. You get to meet new people regularly (each new house seems to bring in a few new people, even if it's just for the night). You get to eat home cooked food in a relaxed setting and you get to see parts of town you might not regularly see in your own routines. Since someone else is doing the cooking most of the time, you just show up and socialize. We'd usually have the next two or three hosts planned by the end of any given evening and we'd end up with lots of side things to do, separate of the club, from meeting people. It's a nice way to break the ice (who doesn't like a meal and some chat?) and I'm sure you could meet some people you'd eventually like to do the 'girls night out' thing with.
