No ....he has appointed a commision to look at taking them down. Who knows how long that will take or should i say it depends on his Senate race between him and Tom Udall and what the polls are showing.

I got one at Menaul and Louisiana for going 41 in a 35. This was during the balloon fiesta timeframe. 6mph over on a main, three lane road - $100. No due process. I'd bet big bucks they lowered the threshhold during the fiesta to rake in the bucks. Vote for anybody but Marty, fellow NM citizens. His actions in Abq will be ten times worse if he gets to Washington. The lights are indicitive of his personality, and his desire to tax and control.

No points are assessed because it is a civil penalty as opposed to a violation of the motor vehicle code.

I am wondering if these things should be installed around here (southern New Hampshire) because the prevalence of running red lights has increased along with the traffic density. Running lights has become a blood sport around here as the BMW yuppies seem to think that their business is too important to wait a light cycle. I will admit to being a less than law abiding driver (mild speeding 5 to 10 over) but running lights is not one of my sins. I am talking about running a red a few to several seconds after the other road has gone green. I am concerned because running reds puts me in danger if I do not notice the miscreant when I start up on the green.

It is kind of funny, that given my anarchic propensities, I like the EZ-pass toll devices. These really do save some time on our toll roads. Even if the things do track my car’s location.

Only the one the camera puts around your neck.

P.S. That last post was kinda hard to muddle through. Where's Pat Sajak when you need him? "I'd like to buy some punctuation, Pat."

Chap

I don't think that 'counts.' Now if it were FIFTEEN over ...

I'd start practicing now if I were you whilst you are in NH. I always lean out and look left then right - just as if I was (jay)walking across the street to try to judge whether the traffic perpendicular to me is slowing *in each lane.*

Sometimes, I can't see if there is a big truck/SUV next to me, but that's Ok since their bulk will save me from getting creamed.

Note that when crossing on foot at the intersection, I check traffic in all four directions since people will not hesitate to complete a turn whether or not someone is in the intersection.

Anyway councilor Brad Winter is proposing a 6 week hold on these Cameras until the ''Committee'' studing these comes back with its answer.

Send Police Chief Schultz back to Scottsdale !!!

Default red lights

Something needs to be done. I saw 5 cars run the red light at lomas and wyoming on Sunday. I had to wait after the light turned green for all the red light runners to cross in front of me going north on wyoming. The people that want them taken out are probably the ones who still talk on their cell phones while running the red lights.

Sorry to disappoint you but i want them out and i do not talk on my Cell Phone and i do not run red lights. My auto insurance is low as i have never been in any accidents or had a speeding ticket since 1986. I'm usually the slowpoke going 65 mph on the interstate that is 75 mph.

I support councilor Winter and hopefully at tonights city council meeting they will suspend these until Mayor Chavez's commitee comes back in 2 weeks with a recommendation.
