hmm, I am not sure about those numbers Bradly. The 2007 population in 830,000. I have a hard time believing we can grow 56% in two years, I just don't see it happening. However, I do hope that we grow, but not nearly that fast. This stat of yours--though I have a hard time believing it--does prove my point in the Infrastructure Rant of mine.

Yes, all the population estimates I've been seeing say that ABQ metro won't reach 1,000,000 until well after 2010 towards 2015. The metro area is growing in the vicinity of 20 % or slightly more per decade.

ABQConvict worries:

According to Don Schrader (AKA the Naked Guy) that's quite healthful.

Duke City Fix » Don Schrader seeks converts.... (http://archives.dukecityfix.com/index.php?itemid=2709 - broken link)

From UNM Security: "He can seek converts all he wants, just as long as he doesn't set up a lemonade stand."

If you're wondering if I'm being sarcastic, the answer would be a resounding, YES.

Hasn't there suddenly become available a whole bunch of available facilities and land for a religious group to hold meetings and live -- in Eldorado, Texas?

Maybe they havn't engaged a proper realtor yet.

They certainly didn't do too much for Clearwater when they moved there.

A village is a troll short today. I happened to like the downtown area. It's not perfect nor should it be, but its fine for me.

Most downtowns are dead in the US because people moved out to the Burbs, freeways killed main streets by bypassing them, and redevelopment kicked out homes and retail. Stop bashing other cities and Albuquerque. The number of high rises doesn't determine a city. Honolulu has more high rise buildings then a lot of cities in the US. Doesn't make it better or worst. What will make downtown lively? Where do people hang out if the sidewalks are rolled up at night?
