I am planning a move to the Southwest towards the end of the Summer and Albuquerque has caught by eye. I'm not the type of person who minds living in a less than attractive apartment, I live an fairly simple lifestyle and don't require much to be happy, so I'm alright with living in a less than 'brand new' apartment. What is the cost of living like in the city? And how is the job market? I likely won't be able to find a job until after I make the move but I plan to start looking immediately. I am young, and looking for a new culture and just a change of people and scenery in general. So how is Albuquerque guys?

This will give you an idea of utilities, insurance, etc:

your costs of living

A quick look at craigslist and any of the online apartment guides will give you the area rents:

Apartments for Rent - Your Trusted Apartment Finder Tool at ApartmentGuide.com
Apartments for Rent - Rent.com® Apartment Finder
Apartments for rent | an apartment finder service & guide for rentals - ForRent.com

Availability of jobs will depend on what experience you have and what industry you work in.

There is a Cost of Living calculator on the last individual city pages on city-data. The are accessible from the homepage.

When I compare southern New Hampshire to most anywhere in New Mexico, NM is about 2/3 the cost of NH.
