Lightbulb Fairbanks to Tijeras

Good Evening....I live in Fairbanks, Alaska and am thinking about moving to
Tijeras, New Mexico. Is there someone out there who can give me some info
about this little town. I would certainly appreciate it.:

Tijeras is a small village just off I-40 about 10 east of the eastern edge of Albuquerque. When people here say they live in Tijeras, it usually includes the area south and east of the village. Most lots are 2 acres or larger and the area is quiet (the farther you get from the freeway, the quieter it is). There are few services here, most of the time you have to go into Albuquerque to get things but that, to some of us, is part of the charm of the area. The climate is colder and wetter than in Albuquerque, but not nearly as cold as you are used to. The temperature will sometimes get down to zero or even a little below and we do get some snow (usually 2-6 feet during the entire winter). The summers get a bit warm, often above 90 but there are frequent thunderstorms to cool things down. There is an elementary and mid school in Tijeras and the high school is in Albuquerque. This will get you started, if you have any more questions, just ask.
