Default New Mexico Film Studios

Does anyone know if the old Traditions site in Algodones was sold or is it still in escrow? If sale has been completed, then has construction commenced on the new film studio ?

I have seen some of those semis that you see on movie sets up there the last few days. The retailers still have liquidation signs up on 25. Don't know anything about the sale. I will take a good look and see if it looks like it's under construction the next time I drive by.

They haven't got their funding yet, as far as I know. Definitely no construction yet.

I noticed that the Traditions Market place in Algodones is off the market. Anyone have any information about the status/ new owners? I've been following the event in the biz journal and it looked like the buyers were not able to secure funding. Now very curious to see if they bought it and if a studio is still possible. Lots of production in LA that would love to come out to NM.

They just couldn't get the funding. IMHO it wasn't a great place for a sound stage anyway, as it's too close to I25 and the new RailRunner train.

Since then, there's been a lot of activity around a new studio on Santa Fe County land, information here: County gives nod to Santa Fe Film Studios - New Mexico Business Weekly:

Last I heard, a different buyer was looking at the property, also for a studio.
