EnjoyEP, are you storing your Tecate out on the patio, so it will stay cold?

Agreed completely. That's why they call me (okay, I call me) "EnjoyEP" on these boards! I absolutely love Albuquerque, and I am nearly as 50-50 as it can be between Albuquerque and the Las Cruces/El Paso corridor, however, I do prefer El Paso's weather (even though Albuquerque's is incredible compared to most of the US too). Like today, I noticed Albuquerque hit 61, 62 in some areas - incredible, incredible, incredible - for mid-February. Yet, El Paso hit the mid-70s. Just outstanding. And while cities like Phoenix and Tucson are also at those great temps, when they are clocking in at 110, 115 this summer, El Paso will be at a much more manageable and temperate 102, 103, etc.

So I agree with you...El Paso and Las Cruces seem to be typically from 8 to 15 degrees warmer than Albuquerque's already pretty darn good wintertime highs which make them ideal in the winter.

However, ABQ has nicer summers and springs and falls are kind of a wash, so I guess it just depends.

I prefer El Paso's / Las Cruces' temps year-round over ABQ's, but just slightly. These are two outstanding year-round climates. If El Paso / Las Cruces are an A+ for year-round climes, I would give ABQ an A- or a B+ (compared to where I am now which would rank as a solid D); other factors where ABQ has a (sometimes big) edge over El Paso make the two cities almost as even in likability as even can be.

I would yukon, but honest-to-goodness, in these temps (and I am being completely serious), if you threw a sixer of Tecate on the patio here, the thing would burst and you'd have glass chards (and frozen Tecate clumps) scattered all about.

Seriously, even in my garage, I have 2-liter bottles of bottled water stored and I often times have found them frozen solid like a rock - in my garage!!!

One bright side of this: I can go grocery shopping (including milk) at 10am in the morning, have 'em all in my truck, and not unpack my car until 5pm in the evening if other stuff comes up. The food will stay even colder than if it had been in my refrigerator. Heck, my gas/electric bills here are so high, I should just shut down my refrigerator for 6 months and store my food out on the back patio!!

God help me, this climate is unbelievable. Great city, don't get me wrong...and Wisconsin Mays through Septembers are very nice (except for the mosquitoes), but man, these winters are insane, awful, and LONG.

I need a Tecate under a 61 degree Albuquerque February mid-month sunshine, not when it is 10 degrees and snowing 6 inches!!!

Enjoy,
I agree with the weather statement. On Sunday morning called chruch at 8Am (it was a nice -12 outside with the windchill of -35 -40) and asked if they were hodling serrvices. AND WILL THE SNOW EVER STOP. But on the positive side we didn't get hit as hard as you in the Mil area. Sister-in-law said they called work off.

Yeah, my wife and I packed up the kiddies on Sunday and still hit church - it was "only" about -7 by us at that time, but the wind was insane. I would say only 50% of the people were there.

Almost every day I think my work should be called off (but here never is) because the weather is so crazy. Yesterday it was bone-chilling cold, this AM it is another half-foot of snow.

Somehow this does not make me feel better! No, seriously, I am glad it has been easier for you guys in the northern regions than down here, because down here, it has been just brutal.

I wish I worked where your sister-in-law does...I have not had my worked called off one day yet this year.
