Default Governor backing Arena

The Governor is wanting Albuquerque to get the Arena deal done. Looks like the state might be willing to help.

He is not doing it for "us", and should butt out and mind the State's business instead of Abq's. If you remember, the feds were going to pay for the Railrunner also. I already pay almost $6k in property taxes, and can do without another tax increase. As you are aware, he wants to create a special tax district to fund the train; the NMGRT would increase to cover it. He'll probably build the darn thing and then raise the NMGRT again when the feds don't come through.

He is not to be trusted.

I saw a clip about this on the KOB 4 website, it said that it may not go in downtown but where ever they do put it,it will be 12,000 seats with a hotel and something else,I dont remember.Of course I think 12,000 seats is too small of an arena,to me its more of a small city venue, but I think downtown could really benefit from this.

If the Gov wants to offer tax credits for it then thats fine but no capitol monies should used unless the voters vote for it.

New Mexico has lots of capitol needs including 500 million in canceled freeway and highway projects thruout the state.

Anyway looks like the city has an almost done deal on it.

So are we sure 12,000 is the decided number at the moment? Because, 12,000 seats is embarassing.

I think it's going to be somewhere between 12,000-16,000. It might depend on the cost if they include the Hotel, Condos & commercial space. Or if they just go with the Arena to start & add the others later.
