LOL there was a resturant like that near Plymouth NH; that one was called "The Robins Nest" they were known for their corn fritters with maple syriup. I remember that and its been about 35 or 40 years since I went there. There was another one up in North Hatley Quebec, on Lake Massawippi, in that one the veranda overlooking the lake was built around a large old shade tree. I've never been to NM.
I just got docked a rep point because I commented on the general topic but not on the specific resturant they were looking for. I dont consider it off topic and some how feel that someone with an axe to grind decided to misuse the off topic thing. I am truly sorry the pleasant memories of an old man somehow upset you so much that it deserved to lose a rep point!
You may be thinking of La Hacienda in Old Town. From the time I was little, they always had huge Cottonwoods that were in the restaurant and growing up through the roof.
I believe the restaurant is called La Placita in Old Town. Native Sun, I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure the name of the Restaurant is La Placita.
yes the restruant ur talking about is called la placita it is to the left of san felipe church. la hacienda is next to la placita it does not have a tree in it. la placita has alot of ppl selling native american jewelry in front of it so its easy to spot. my auntie and uncle own la placita so i should know my whole family has been working there since i was born

My family ate there last Christmas Eve. The food is superb.
But there are other area restaurants, I believe at least 2 in Corrales, built around a very old tree.
