5 acres, flat, on top of a ridge, 360 views, no restrictions on what can be built. 90% of the houses around it are really nice. There are some "questionable" ones in the area, but not close. Drilling a well is likely to cost $20k, you're looking at 400 - 500 feet. We've looked at it several times and talked to the realtor. My wife loves it, but I'm not sold on it.

Take a look, one of the last big parcels in the area around.
I went to realtor.com but this number doesn't bring anything up. Is the number correct? I'm interested in seeing the parcel. Ah, so you want to build your house. That's quite an undertaking, but you have just what you want in the end. We're looking for a house already built and then we create the outdoors just the way we like it.

I just "walked" some of the roads where possible in Bosque Farms and Tijeras and Placitas on GoogleMaps. I think I'm seeing the difference, but there's no way to know until I'm actually there. The photos on the link sure do pull me in and make me like Placitas even more. We'll see, though... Thanks!

We have long time friends (15+ years) in Bosque Farms and Tijeras. We have had rural life in several places. It's just not for us, be we do "ride around" and look. We were fortunate that my wife (and I for a while) use to come out to work in this area (and other Southwest areas) from the D.C. area., so we had some exposure. Good luck on your ventures!
