Hi:

I was wondering how much a very nice, clean, safe, quiet 2-bedroom apartment would cost?

Thanks...

Honestly, just check Zillow rentals, Craigslist, and local real agencies. Best of luck.

What area of the city? Also every apartment ad everywhere will say they are nice, clean, quiet and safe. So those are really subjective qualities.

Or better yet apartment renters guide. Zillow is usually good but when they are wrong--they are VERY wrong especially with rental properties. I can often come up with better estimates then they can, and I don't do that for a living.

There are a lot of shabby homes along Girard between Central and Gibson. Is that a "bad" neighborhood?" I heard they are student ghettos.

Around $1000/month for a 2 bedroom. I was just checking out Prairie Hills.

Girard's a bit of a dividing line, but certainly west of Girard, it's pretty rough, with some nice spots that are facing rapid gentrification. Let's face it- many UNM students are poor, and this is a very essential neighborhood in terms of affordable housing.

Bad neighborhoods and good neighborhoods in such close proximity maximizes opportunity for on-the-street unpleasantness.

East of Girard has some very expensive older homes and anchors the Nob Hill neighborhood.

The Beach Apartments are to my eye some of the coolest rentals in Albuquerque. And, it is in an amazing location next door to some of the finest open spaces in Albuquerque. They rent 2 bedroom apts. for around $770.00 I was by there today taking photos for my blog A Modern Route 66 Style Icon?

This is across the street from the Beaches Apts. :

The Beach Apartments were designed by Antoine Predock, and like many of his buildings suffer from chronic maintenance issues, especially leaks. A former resident of these apartments told me she had to move out because of frequent leaks and finding her apartment flooded one day when she came home. All those extra zigs, zags, and irregular cubes present challenges to the integrity of the structures.
