Are you getting bored?

You dredged up a dead ( horse - heh! ) thread just to add an
over-the-wall comment?

Go out into the light, young man/woman - whatever you are.

Leave the UNM computer center and discover the world at large.
It will be good for you.

this is true, but I still talk on my phone and drive all the time, if I see a cop I just put the phone down.

" if I see a cop I just put the phone down. "

Right, because they will never notice you first.

I do notice that people doing the more stupid things ( excessive speeding, cutting people off when turning, driving so close that they almost touch my bumper, darting in and out of traffic ) are generally young and have a phone pressed to their ear ( or are texting or putting on makeup ) and I think that the cell phone ban is aimed at those more inexperienced drivers who are most likely to be distracted when driving and trying to do something else.

Frankly, it's the lack of car seats being used that I would rather see them go after en masse.

"It's a way of thinnin' out the herd."

I don't agree. It's not a cbild's fault their parent is an idiot. Seatbelt laws and motorcycle helmet laws work as herd thinners, for adults. The safety seat issue is something that affects someone other than the person responsible for making the safety decision.

Some might argue an apple does not fall far from the tree and it is a herd thinner.
