Ah, great call Chaparral, I have been gone from ABQ much too long already. How I forgot omitted El Modelo is beyond me. Outstanding pick-up Mexican food. I would drive down there once a month from the NE Heights just to pick stuff up.
Sometimes on business I would drive past there during the day, and the smells are amazing.

Yep, this is a good call too. ABQ has an amazingly high amount of good local fast food chains (or regional fast food) that cannot be found elsewhere. Breakfast burritos are good stuff.

You know I never once had a chance to try Stufy's but I always wanted to. Interesting to see it on your list...it must be good stuff! Definitely a must-try sometime soon.

I cannot even describe how good that sounds right now!!
This is another place I needed to hit sometime in ABQ...I will absolutely need to get there.

Another great call. I know that Rudy's is a regional chain with locations outside of NM, however, my wife and I always loved Rudy's for a casual night out - great, great meats!
Random trivia: Also, the Rudy's on the west side has a palm tree in front of it that looks great every April through November.

ANOTHER Mexican & fast food place...(omissions)...
I never should've left these off - I am amazed that I did!
MEXICAN:
-El Norteno (on Zuni) - long-time tremendous Mexican cuisine
FAST FOOD:
-Griff's on Central - place is packed with SNL / Kirtland folks every day for lunch...absolutely tremendous (and underrated) burgers

Honorable Mention
This place doesn't fit any of my categories as it is more of a bakery, however, I should throw in the GOLDEN CROWN PANADERIA in the Barrela's area. I think any newcomer to ABQ should have too stop at the Golden Crown, spend some time in there, and grab a loaf of the green chile bread.

I whole heartedly agree on Griff's. Good stuff.
p.s. On my list above, Stufy's just edged out Golden Pride. But since I had already listed GP's sister restaurant (Frontier), I went with Stufy's. If you pressed me, I might change my vote. I just have a soft spot in my heart for those stuffed sopaipillas going back to when I was a kid.

I went to Powdrell's once for a pulled porked sandwich, and found it to be better than Rudy's.

One other addendum...
Steaks:
Upscale - Great American Land & Cattle Co. (Tramway & Indian School)
Dive/Hole in the wall - Monte Carlo Steakhouse (Central, west of Atrisco)
Bon Appetit!

Where is Stufy's? I didn't realize there were any left.
