Default Softball?

I'm an ex-college baseball player, who with my old age (an elderly 27), have retired to softball recently. Any good leagues in the ABQ area?

Hey jrod -

Hopefully you will get more thorough / helpful answers, however, I played for awhile in one through the City of Rio Rancho's rec league, and it was pretty cool. They had March, April, summer, and Fall leagues, and their facilities were really pretty darn shnazzy.

Overall I was pleased.

I played in a fall and summer coed league in Burque. We played near La Cueva, but those fields are no longer (I think?). Sorry, can't help you much, but there were a LOT of teams when I played so they can't all have just disappeared, could they have?

Good info EnjoyEP. I've been looking hard at the neighborhoods and I'm really digging Paradise Hills, Tijeras and Edgewood. Perhaps there are some closer leagues in these areas. I'll tell you what, the homes in Tijeras are beautiful. All that land and the view of the Mtns. I can't wait to visit in May.

La Cueva High School is in between Wyoming and Barstow and Alameda and Wilshire Ave. in the Far North East Heights.

The fields that were mention were in the Albuquerque Sportsplex which has been shut down due to complaints about lights, and the Sandia Indians bought the land and finally just boarded up the place--they used to have softball in the week and on the weekends 14,13,12,11,10 y.o. baseball leagues. I know that there is a really fun mens baseball league that I participated in not too long ago, and most of those games were played at Sandia High School. I know there is still a good softball league, but I am not sure where they play now, and where to get the information. I know for awhile they were playing at those fields next to Bullhead Park in the far southern part of the city. Anyway, best of luck in your search!
